Modern Railway Systems
We are a recognized leader in delivering turnkey projects, including, signaling, traction electrification, communications, security, and SCADA in the transportation industry from conceptual design through certification of installed systems. We offer full project management and systems integration services which are coupled with collaborative and solutions-oriented approaches to complete projects on budget and on time.
Our team has extensive experience in project management, design, procurement, construction, testing and integration for, train control, traffic control software, power distribution, and traction electrification systems. We provide design, furnish, integration, installation, and testing and commissioning of all critical communications systems, which guarantees we deliver our customers with the best in knowledge and industry experience.
We are at the forefront of the industry when it comes to the design and implementation of positive train control (PTC) solutions. We have installed PTC systems on more than 280 miles of commuter rail lines throughout the nation. Complies with FRA CFR 49 Parts 234 and 236. In addition, we were the first to successfully implement the FRA PTC-Type Approval for Enhanced-Automatic Train Control in the United States. We have also designed a robust traffic control and scheduling software suite called Track Driver eXtra (TDX) specifically created for freight and transit applications.
We work as a cohesive team with our customers, their representatives, and other contractors involved in our projects. This approach has led to successful implementation and maintenance of systems projects for light rail, commuter rail, streetcar, and Class 1 railroads across the United States and Canada. Modern Manufacturing is a custom manufacturer of precision metal fabrications, specializing in railroad equipment. Modern Manufacturing is the exclusive supplier to many Class 1 railroads and transit system owners in North America.
Modern Railway Systems' predecessor company, Rail Systems Solutions, is established in 2001 offering safe and effective signaling solutions.
Our team implements TDX on Utah Transit Authority’s FrontRunner North commuter rail line. Since this first implementation, TDX has been integrated and implemented for multiple clients in the transportation market.
Rail Systems Solutions is acquired by Stacy and Witbeck becoming Modern Railway Systems.
Modern Railway Systems expands to Washington with Sound Transit's University Link light rail project and continues our strong relationship with Utah Transit Authority, winning our first streetcar project.
