CapMetro PTC Implementation
Ensuring the commuter rail line met FRA standards.
Ensuring the commuter rail line met FRA standards.
This project was for the documentation, design, material procurement, installation, and testing to implement an E-ATC (Enhanced Automatic Train Control) PTC system on CapMetro's commuter rail line.
The system included 25 control points, 17 intermediate signal locations, 79 grade crossings, nine passenger stations, and added 33 miles of fiber optic backbone and network development. MRS upgraded and retrofitted the wayside signal system as well as 10 DMUs and six locomotive on-board systems. We also developed a training program and trained Capital Metro representatives on the new E-ATC functionality.
