Modern Railway Systems (MRS) provided comprehensive installation services for the wayside signal system equipment along a 20-mile stretch of Amtrak’s west rail line between Kalamazoo and Chicago.
Work
The project included 16 grade crossings, four intermediate signals, and one electric lock location. Each site required installation of new signal cabling, fiber network cabling, signal houses, and signals. MRS also performed all fiber optic testing and supported the prime contractor and owner with cutover testing to ensure a seamless transition to the upgraded system.
Impact
This work enhanced operational efficiency, safety, and reliability for both passenger and freight services.
