Overview
The Orange Line Expansion (I-1/I-2 and I-3), consisting of 3 light rail segments totaling more than 14 miles, provided vital transit access to the Dallas Fort Worth Airport. The project also included the design and construction of five signature light rail stations
Scope of Work
Modern Railways Systems (MRS) was responsible for the communications design and furnishing of all field equipment for various systems, including the Communications Transmission System (CTS), Public Address (PA) system, Variable Message Signs (VMS), Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), Emergency Telephones (ETEL), and telephone and SCADA systems.
Impact
The advanced communication and monitoring systems significantly improved passenger experience and enhanced the efficiency and reliability of operations along the Orange Line. The expansion strengthened airport connectivity and supported long term mobility for the region.
