FrontRunner Double Track (FR2X)

Overview
Modern Railway Systems (MRS), in partnership with MJG as Rocky Mountain Systems Services (RMSS), and with subcontractor KB Signaling, delivers comprehensive train control and communications solutions for the FrontRunner 2X (FR2X) project. The team supports system expansion while ensuring continued regulatory compliance and operational reliability.

Scope of Work
The team will design, procures, install, and test systems associated with the FR2X expansion, including:

• New train control equipment for 9 new segments of double track
• Support to UTA to maintain compliance with FRA Positive Train Control (PTC) requirements
• Design, procurement, installation, and testing of fiber optic communications system upgrades

Impact
This work expands FrontRunner capacity while maintaining the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance.
