The San Diego MTS Broadway / C Street Wheel Counter Replacements project is modernizing critical train detection and signal infrastructure along the existing system.
Work
The project includes replacing the existing wheel sensors at the C Street double crossover with a new Frauscher Axle Counter System. The work also includes installing new Alstom ElectroLogIXS Vital Logic Controllers at both the C Street signal case and the Broadway Wye signal house.
Impact
Once complete, this will improve the reliability and maintainability of the signal system while providing accurate train detection through a critical area of the network. These upgrades will help support safe train movements, strengthen system performance, and provide MTS with modern equipment designed to serve the system for years to come.
