Our Work in Practice
The Windsor Station for Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is up and running!
This project added 3.3 miles of commuter rail infrastructure, extending from the northern limits of Santa Rosa to downtown Windsor, CA. The scope included a new station, five public grade crossings, eight signal houses, bridge replacements, and upgrades to SMART’s dispatch and communications systems. We oversaw the design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of the signal and communications systems throughout the length of the rail.
The project involved seamless integration with SMART’s existing alignment and systems, coordination with multiple permitting agencies, and an integrated delivery approach to successfully interface within an active corridor under tight schedules and operational constraints.
We are grateful for the opportunity to support SMART in expanding its network and enhancing commuter rail service in the Sonoma-Marin communities.
