Small Actions Can Create Meaningful Impact

At Modern Railway Systems (MRS), we build transit systems to connect our communities, but our commitment extends beyond infrastructure. Serving and helping those in need is also part of who we are. 

Our Business Development and Estimating team, took the time to volunteer at Backpack Society, an organization dedicated to collecting food donations and raising funds for students facing food insecurity. Through partnerships with schools across Douglas County, Littleton, and Englewood School Districts, the organization helps ensure students have reliable access to food outside of school hours. As a fully community supported nonprofit, their impact is made possible through the time, resources, and dedication of volunteers. 

We organized food onto shelves, sifted through donations, and packed boxes with food that will be distributed to schools across multiple districts. Each box represents more than a meal. It represents stability, support, and the ability for students to focus on learning and growth. 

Efforts like these reflect the values we carry into every project. Whether we are delivering critical rail infrastructure or giving back through service, our focus remains the same, making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. 

In recognition of National Volunteer Month, this initiative highlights the power of collective action. When individuals come together with a shared purpose, even small contributions can create lasting impact.
